Assignment 1, Due 10.28: Recording Your Dreams

For this project you’ll begin by re-creating memorable moments from dreams you’ve had. Begin by thinking back to dreams that you’ve remembered. What symbols / images stand out to you? Spend some time sketching and brainstorming in your sketchbook.

Once you’ve mined your dreams for ideas choose three moments that stand out to you. For homework due next week you will create three concept sketches based on those moments.

Each concept sketch should contain a visual reference and some text. The visual reference can be created using any materials / methods you’d like – drawing, painting, photography, collage, found images, found materials, etc. Choose your text carefully. Think about the words you include and the visual form the text will take.

Each concept sketch should measure 8 ½” x 11”.
